We’re excited to be offering two, weekly workshops series for July/August 2019! “Intro to Jazz Voice” begins July 9th – and “Vocal Freedom for Singer-Songwriters” begins July 11th. All classes from 6:30-8:30pm.

  • This is a welcoming, supportive environment. Vocalists of all experience levels are encouraged!

Intro to Jazz Voice
Tuesdays: July 9, 16, 23, 30 + Final Performance on August 6th
6:30-8:30pm

Join us for an inspiring 5-week summer workshop series on everything jazz voice! We’ll cover topics like contemporary voice technique, phrasing & storytelling, improvisation, time, grooves and listening skills. Come prepared with a jazz song you love – we work with tracks in your key – and each participant sings and receives personalized feedback during every class. The series concludes on August 6th with a party and casual performance for friends and family!

Vocal Freedom for Singer-Songwriters
Thursdays: July 11, 18, 25, August 1 + Final Performance: August 8
6:30-8:30pm

Join us for a 5-week summer workshop series for singer-songwriters! We believe that singing your story is a fiercely courageous act – and we want to help inspire and support you through this process. We’ll cover topics like contemporary voice technique, storytelling and phrasing, lyric-writing and strategies to work through creative blocks and spark your creativity. Each participant plays an original song or cover/arrangement and receives personalized feedback during every class. Must accompany self on guitar or piano (but it doesn’t have to be perfect!) The series concludes on August 8th with a party and casual performance for friends and family!

Our Seadragon Summer Workshop Series is taught by Seadragon Songhouse founder, Courtney Cutchins. For nearly 15 years, she’s been sharing her passion for music education, helping clients learn to sing their songs and love their voices – from Seattle to New York City to Atlanta. With a Master of Music degree in Jazz Vocal Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, her coaching is informed by Somatic Voicework™ methods, as well as her experiences as a performing artist and educator, with a focus on CCM (Contemporary Commercial Music) styles such as pop, rock, jazz, folk and original songs. She believes in trusting her client’s creative voice to guide each session, encouraging their authentic and unique self to shine through.
